It’s that time of the year again, the nights are getting shorter and winter is peeping its cheeky head our way and we couldn’t be more up for it! Trailer after trailer is appearing on our snow radar to entice us into the winter wonderland.
Lipstick Productions captured our attention last year with ‘5 More Minutes…Please!’ and we were stoked to have a girls only European snow movie to feast our eyes on, but what have they got for us this season? Ana and Conny of Lipstick reveal all.
How did Lipstick get started and when?
Lipstick got started 2 seasons ago, November/December 2010. It was a spontaneous idea during a random morning in Innsbruck. The first idea was to do some girls riding podcasts.. it turned out to be a European all female snowboard movie!
What was the aim/inspiration behind starting Lipstick?
Well, are there any European girls snowboard productions? No! So it was time to change something and to enable girls who don´t focus on competition, giving them another chance to get attention.
We loved ’5 More Minutes.. Please!’, were you pleased with how it was received?
Most definitely! Big thanks to Sophie Morawetz who did an awesome job on the movie. Also big thanks to all the sponsors, riders, media partners, fans, in short everybody who supported us and believed in us!
And what should we expect from the new film, Eurotic? Love the poster with the ladies wearing their ‘native’ outfits!
Since we come from all parts of the Europe we thought it would be interesting to wear our native outfits and do things people in our countries do. It was fun for us filming it and hopefully it’ll be fun for people to see it. Otherwise we spent a lot of time in the streets and natural mountain terrain, had different crews of ladies doing different stuff so the footage should be fresh.
Any stand out moments/stories from making the movie? Looks like a lot of fun was had!
To be honest, every time we go somewhere unexpected things happen and we’re never bored. Maybe the craziest thing that happened to us was horse riding up the mountain in Macedonia. The idea was to go up on horses with all the gear and snowboard down, but being able to gallop on the horses turned out to be the only thing we needed to survive.
Where was the most adventurous place you went to shoot?
Both Iceland and Macedonia were full of adventures. Another thing that happened to us in Macedonia was the huge storm that cut us off from the civilization for 30 hours. We were without electricity, getting warm around the fire, hoping they would dig out the road and get us out. Iceland on the other hand was an adventure itself. We went looking for the natural hot springs, got lost in lava fields, got stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere, got flat tire, locked ourselves out of the apartment…

Tell us a bit about the European tour…Will there be a stop in the UK?
The European tour is getting more and more stops. We’re starting with Garden Festival, Innsbruck, Munich, Poland… There will be a premiere in UK, but we’re still discussing when and where.
And finally what adventures have Lipstick got up their sleeve for 12/13?
We’re still sticking together but the plan is to have some changes. We’re still working on the final idea so we’ll keep it a secret a bit longer. Let’s just say it’ll be a bit more fun and show us ladies in a different light!
